Kilough Elementary has a school wide disciplinary system. The school enforces the P.A.W.S rules. There rules are as follows:
Pledge to do my best Accept responsibility Work together Show respect
With these rules in place anyone in the school can enforce the rules and the student will follow them. They know what is expected and what they need to do to be rewarded. When a student follows the rules and sets an example, they get a paw. The paws will earn them rewards from their teacher. If the whole class gets a reward then they will get a class wide reward once they receive a certain number. An example of this would be once a class reaches 10 paws they get to wear pj's one day. With P.A.W.S rules, they have set up a number system for knowing how loud you need to be at certain times. Zero inch voice- no talking, One inch voice- whispering, Two inch voice- normal voice, Three inch voice- yelling. The students are never aloud to be at a number three voice unless the are outside. Most of the time the students are to be a zero or one inch voice.
Mrs. Morawsky's class rules:
1) No tattleing, only report when someone is hurt or in danger.
2) Listen and follow directions
3) Keep your hands to your self.
4) Mouths at zero when on the rug or when someone is speaking.
5) When the egg is shaken you stand at attention, mouth at zero, hands behind your back
Mrs. Burkes' class rules:
1) no name calling
2) no talking during centers
3) no pushing
4) when the stop sign is up at my reading table, I am not avalible
5) raise your hand if you need help
6) sit like a LEO on the rug. (Leo the lion. Crisscross, hands in lap, mouth closed, eyes on the teacher.)
Mrs. Burkes and Mrs. Morawsky both used the card system. The student is warned once and if reprimanded again they must pull a card. When a card is pulled a note is written home. Once they pull ten cards over a period of time they are refereed to the office and get in school suspension.
